Overview

Shipt's shopper page distinguishes personal shopping from package delivery. Shop & Deliver means selecting and purchasing a customer's items and bringing them to an address within the required window. Package delivery involves collecting packages and following a route to multiple addresses. This guide focuses on shopping; do not assume the workload or pay terms of a package route are identical. Official shopper overview

Personal shopping can suit someone who likes detailed practical work and clear customer communication. It also requires patience when a product is missing, a checkout queue is slow or a customer needs help choosing a replacement. Driving is only one part of the commitment.

Pay and availability

Shipt describes base offer pay based on estimated time and effort, with possible bonuses and customer tips added. That is not a guaranteed hourly rate. Its signup page also says submissions are reviewed according to need, so sending an application does not establish an immediate start date. Shipt pay and application information

For an initial trial, record the whole order cycle: travel to the store, shopping, messages, checkout and the final delivery. Record actual receipts rather than assuming a tip will arrive. Compare ordinary orders separately from bonus offers so a temporary promotion does not become your expected baseline.

Requirements to check before buying equipment

The public page lists a minimum age of 18, a valid U.S. driver's license, Social Security number, auto insurance, a mailing address, a reliable vehicle and the ability to lift 50 pounds. It also specifies a compatible smartphone. Confirm the current application requirements and ask your insurer about delivery use before starting. Published shopper requirements

Review whether the physical requirements fit your situation, including carrying bags from the vehicle to the door. A manageable cart in the store can still be difficult to unload at a building with stairs or distant parking.

A lower-risk way to learn

Begin with a familiar store and enough schedule margin for replacements and checkout. Check product size and quantity carefully, keep cold items protected and follow the customer's approved substitution choices. Do not take overlapping commitments unless you can complete both without compromising the delivery windows.

After a few comparable work periods, evaluate your retained money, communication workload and time pressure. Store knowledge may reduce searching, but it cannot eliminate low order availability or slow responses. Base the decision to continue on your own results rather than promotional testimonials.
